It is really easy to take a cup of coffee for granted, but there are a lot of people who should thank their stars for the existence of coffee. It is the ideal way to wake up and is one of the most popular beverages in the world for a very long time. With every cup, there is the flavor and promise of a better tomorrow.

But whenever you make yourself a cup of coffee, have you ever stopped to consider how people found out how to turn those beans into a drink or how they thought of ways to brew them? There are numerous ways a person can make coffee, but one that stands out is the one cup coffee maker. Since most people prefer their coffee freshly made, this machine is ideal as it makes fresh single servings each time.

The coffee maker manufacturing company Keurig noticed this and decided that a machine that makes single servings of coffee must be made to accommodate this. And so, the Keurig Coffee Maker was invented, which paved the way for one cup coffee makers.

Before the one cup coffee maker was invented, coffee was mostly brewed up by pots without any other options, this excluding instant coffee. While most coffee makers do make them fresh and hot, as time goes by, they cool down and stale. Since coffee loses its flavor in open air quite quickly, most people would just dump them once they are deemed as "undrinkable".

With the single cup coffee maker, this problem is eliminated by being able to brew one cup at a time. Basically, you use a coffee pod, which is a can of specially blended coffee that can be inserted into the machine at a slot on the top to be brewed. Once inserted, you pick a brew size from the console at the right. After selecting the brew size, all you have to do is to wait for the fresh coffee to fill up your cup and you are good to go.

The coffee pod usually comes in a variety of different flavors as per the manufacturer's specifications, each catering to almost every type of coffee drinker. If none of them are to your liking, then there is also a K-Cup that lets you blend your own. The coffee pod basically contains a paper filter and the coffee, which is to be injected with pressurized hot water by the coffee maker, which then goes through the filter then finally out of the nozzle.

The one cup coffee maker offer various serving options. Most of them serve both an 8 Ounce American style or a % ounce European style. Differing from one another with their own specifications and design. The popular brands include Keurig, Melitta, Philips, Senseo, Tassimo.

The biggest advantage from using one cup coffee makers is the fact that it serves single servings, which means that you will get a fresh cup of coffee in each and every single time. However, its strength can also be its weakness, depending on the user. It serves only single servings, so if you're a type of person who likes having a whole pot of coffee at the ready, you might as well get a conventional coffee maker.

Cleaning/Maintenance Of Single Cup Coffee Maker

Most one cup coffee makers use separate coffee pods with filters within them and are disposable. Most of the cleaning will be done on the removable dip tray and the water tank. A mild detergent is sufficient enough for the task.
